Funk can djent, right…

That band does something that is quite awkward – Djent-funk metal. Sound Struggle delivers really hard, putting you in surprise and will literally screw around with your brain. The record is technically prolific, give it a listen, suck from that musical energy, it is well worth your time (and your money). Rise does the brilliant job in making you feel strange and in the same time nice, playful sounds will pass and giggle in the air. By the way they are DIY, so they produce their own music.

Rise by Sound Struggle

‘Rise’ is one of the best recorded albums you will ever hear…

So Djent-Funk – is it possible after all? By the opinion of these guys – yes. I`m still surprised what human mind is capable of when it comes to music and specifically – metal. It`s hard not to remember the first albums of Dream Theater and some of these of Symphony X like “Odyssey” and “Paradise lost”, but they are just a small peace of the concept, when I listen to Sound Struggle. Yet the music is complex, not too heavy, various, and somehow I could relax with it, although the heavy riffs. Funk with djent? Are you serious?! Yes, that record is for the open-minded, but I am sure a lot of you will welcome the vibe it has.

Sound

Here’s the strange part – it sounds equally good in all the genres featured and it is mastered to meet all the expectations of the most geeky mind there. Did I mention they are ‘Do It Yourself’? The guitars are crisp and oily, sounding very clean. Drum work is amazing, all the cymbals are just gorgeous to listen and the mix is out of this world. Also the weighty effect of genres like deathcore here is missing, despite the presence of conventional growl and scream vocals.

Let me give you one generalized comparison about “Rise” – juice, wealthy in tastes, but not too much with any of them.
